Northern New Jersey construction company seeks a self starter, motivated individual to sell construction services. Job will require cold calling on customers as well as following up internet and advertising leads.

The majority of the cold calling must be focused outside of the office, and you should not be affected by being turned down at the door. You will be required to call on municipalities, construction companies, real estate agencies, plumbing supply companies, insurance companies, etc.
Base salary, commission, and benefits are offered. Compensation will be based on experience.
You will be reporting directly to the President.

Specific responsibilities:

• Meet with clients to determine scope of work
• Confirm actual site conditions
• Specify materials and designs of sidewalks, curbs, parking lots, utilities
• Build relationships with field crews
• Deal with homeowners as well as property managers, municipal and state purchasing agents etc.
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Develop and write project/bid specifications
• Qualifying subcontractor proposals on larger projects
• Presentations and/or office meetings for clients.


Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years sales
• Construction and concrete experience a must
• Understanding of drainage and effects of water on paving surfaces
• Ability to visualize how things are built
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills both oral and written.
• Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
• This position will require the employee to visit job sites
• Attention to detail and quality
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications to include Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• An enthusiastic attitude towards the use of technology in order to perform duties efficiently.

In peak business season, April – December it will be expected that you will be available 6 days a week and some nights in order to visit and make presentations to homeowners.
